At Warrigal Road State School, we believe in unlocking every child’s potential—and our exceptional Instrumental Music Program is just one of the many ways we do this. Aligned with the Australian Curriculum, every student receives specialist music lessons weekly, laying a strong foundation in musical literacy and appreciation.

From Year 3, students may be selected for our highly regarded Instrumental Music Program, where they receive expert instruction in strings, woodwind, brass, or percussion. Lessons are delivered in small groups during school hours, complemented by ensemble rehearsals before school. Students gain valuable performance experience, discipline, and teamwork—skills that serve them well throughout life.

Our school boasts three concert bands and four string ensembles, providing clear pathways for musical growth and achievement. Through regular performances, competitions, and workshops, students develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of music.

Warrigal Road also offers a vibrant choral program from Year 2, including junior and senior choirs, chamber choir, and a boys' chorus—all proudly representing the school at major events across Brisbane.
