Dear WRSS Families
We appreciate your patience with our school over the past few months as major works occurred and continue to occur. It is quite an exciting time for our school community as the new building takes shape.
I am writing to you about another matter which I know impacts on many daily. While I wear many hats as a principal, I have absolutely no authority to manage traffic or driver behaviour. I do however continue to influence this by being at the front gate almost daily and on Demigre Street most afternoons. We also put regular articles in our school newsletter.
Warrigal Road State School also facilitates a Traffic Management Committee that draws together the local Police, Department of Transport and Brisbane City Council in an attempt to improve traffic management in and around our school. This committee would like to commence discussions about the possible conversion of Karhula Park into a car park and drop off zone to better manage traffic on Demigre Street.
To assist our discussions, we are asking for your view. Understandably, the converting of green space to car parking space could be controversial. No group will consider that without the support of those who live in the area and the local community. We have developed a survey to collate your thoughts.
We would appreciate a moment of your time to complete this three-question survey.
The survey link doesn't seem to be working from this site so I will email it to all parents. You may also be able to access it from this QR Code.
Apologies for the inconvenience and multiple postings.
Thank you in anticipation for completing the survey.
Kind Regards
Andrew Duncan
Principal
